Nathan Brown, The Third Draft Constitution for a Palestinian State: Translation and Commentary,Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research, 2003.

The draft constitution of a Palestinian state has been developed through an extended process that drew on Palestinians and international expertise and shows strong signs of reacting to earlier Palestinians experiences with constitutional document.

It is thus no be no surprise that the draft has grown stronger and more specific ofer time. Constitutions throughout the world have shown increasing length and specificity in the past decades, so the Palestinians are participating in a broder trend.

The Palestinian draft does not include as lengthy priovisions on general igeological matters as has become in the norms. the current draft does not even have a preamble. It is not devoid of generalities, but it is probably more remarkable for the specific language of some its provisions.
