Janner-Klausner and Felsenstein identify three new job descriptions that were created in Israeli local authorities in the wake of decentralization, demands for more professionalization, demands for fiscal responsibility, and an emphasis on improving service quality for residents. These positions are: municipal COO, director of strategic planning and information, and director of economic development. All three are an answer to daily needs of local development.
